My First Visit

Worship is Our "Front Door"

At Fredericktown United Methodist Church we understand that the first experience many visitors have with our church is by attending worship. We offer two intentionally distinct worship experiences to reach more people for Christ. In both times, the music is deep and rich, God’s word is central, and our hope is in our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Our early "Celebration" worship experience begins at 9:00 AM and concentrates on CONTEMPORARY sounds, a relaxed format and preaching that is both relevant to today and faithful to God’s call.

Our later "Classic" worship time begins at 11:00 AM and draws on more Traditional elements to present the message of God’s love and call in our lives as in our early service. Expect to sing some favorite hymns, enjoy our choir, experience the Word and renew your faith.

Where are we?

Once in Fredericktown, go about a block and a half South of the Madison County Courthouse.
Our address is 216 South Main.

What to Wear, What to Wear?

Though you’ll probably see a dress or a tie on Sunday morning, you will also see T-shirts and jeans. Your presence is more important to us than your appearance, and we consider your presence a gift to us!

Is the Communion Table Open to Me?

Christ’s table is open to all who hunger to be fed spiritually. We recognize that each of us comes to the Lord from different places in our journey with Christ, and we welcome you as Christ welcomes us all, openly into God’s presence. We celebrate Holy Communion at the first of each month with bread and juice. (Wine is not served in recognition of those who struggle with this addiction.)

Are Children Welcomed in Worship?

We affirm that children are important members of our worshiping community and should feel that they belong to the household of faith.

Is there Nursery Service?

We enjoy having children of all ages with us in worship, but for those moments when the “littles” need a place where they can go during Sunday School or Worship time, our Nursery Center is staffed by caring parent-helpers. Just one door down the hall from the church office, the nursery is open to children from birth to 5 years old.

Is My Child Safe?

It is the policy of the United Methodist Church and our mandate as concerned Christians that Fredericktown United Methodist Church is a place where everyone can feel safe. This means background checks for all who care for our children and youth (from the pastor through Sunday School teachers/helpers) and an open door policy in all classrooms with two adults in the area where children and youth are present. A complete copy of our promise is available here.
