Here are some ways that you can take part in the life of the church.

Small Groups at Fredericktown UMC

We have several ways that you can get involved in a small group at Fredericktown UMC. The first way is to join us on Sunday mornings. We have small groups for all ages between our two worship services at 10 AM. The second way is to join one of our other small groups that meet throughout the week. The available small groups are:

Youth Group

monthly - Fellowship Hall 6:00 PM

We have a brand new youth group that meets monthly on Sunday evenings here at the church. We’ll be following the rotation model for this group where they will rotate between three stations of a game, a lesson, and a snack. It’ll last about an hour and will be a fun time for everyone involved. Take a look at our calendar to see when this month’s gathering is scheduled for!

Youth Confirmation

Weekly - Youth Small Group Room 6:00 PM

We have a great group of youth that are going through confirmation currently. They meet from 6:00-7:30 PM on Sunday evenings. This is a short-term class and when it is finished, we’ll have a special Confirmation Sunday!

God’s love in motion - a reconciling community

The second Monday of the month - Fellowship Hall 7:00 PM

This small group is our Reconciling Community within Fredericktown United Methodist Church. A reconciling community is one that has approved a statement that specifically names a welcome of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Churches, Sunday School classes, campus ministries, and annual conference groups strengthen the Reconciling Ministries Network through their witness for a fully inclusive church. This community will be working for ways that we can be welcoming and inclusive to all. All are welcome in this small group, no matter if you are a member of Fredericktown UMC or not. It will take place on the second Monday of the month, unless there is a holiday or event on the day or close by. If that’s the case, it will be moved to another Monday. Please refer to our calendar for the latest dates.

Food & Faith

Last Wednesday of the Month - Alternating restaurants in town 6:30 PM

This is a group that will be meeting at different restaurants here in town. We will have food and drink together while talking over a different discussion topic at every meeting. The topics will typically be more contemporary and relevant. Each person will be responsible for their own meal. This group will last about an hour and a half, depending on the food and conversation that week. All are welcome in this small group, no matter if you are a member of Fredericktown UMC or not. However, please let us know if you are interested by contacting Pastor Bryan at revschaefer@fredericktownumc.com so that we can be sure to save you a seat. On months when there is a holiday or other important event on the last Thursday of the month, it will be moved to the previous Thursday. Please see our calendar for the exact days and times. This group takes a break in November and December.
